Centre for Strategic Communication Programs, Cote d’Ivoire

Centre-for-Strategic-Communication-ProgramsCotedIvoire2The Centre for Strategic Communication Programs, Cote d’Ivoire designs communication strategies to increase practice of key HIV preventive behaviors among high-priority audiences. HIV/AIDS-related communication campaigns address low condom use, transactional and concurrent sexual partnerships, intergenerational sex, health system strengthening, abstinence and remaining faithful. The persistence of fear, stigma and discrimination associated with HIV status and sexual orientation are also addressed though Centre campaigns.

The Centre works with Cote d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Health and local partners to build capacity in social and behavior change communication. New initiatives are being planned to increase the capacity of indigenous organizations to design, implement, manage and evaluate evidence-based health communication programs and establish systems for professional development in the field.

Current Projects

Current HIV/AIDS prevention programs include “Super Go,” for schoolgirls, Brothers for Life for men 25 to 59, and African Transformation for young women and couples. Also on the Centre agenda is an advocacy campaign to mobilize the private sector in support of stigma reduction and social inclusion.
