PACTO – Mozambique

PACTO (Prevenção Activa e Comunicação Para Todos or Active Prevention and Communication for All) is a four-year USAID-funded project in Mozambique that aims to facilitate structural, normative and behavioral change to:

  • Lower barriers to HIV services
  • Increase demand for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of the virus, voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) and HIV testing and counseling (HCT) among men and women
  • Assure adherence to anti-retroviral therapy (ART) and positive prevention lifestyles among people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA)
  • Condemn gender-based violence (GBV) across all media and community interventions
  • Promote the utilization of the GBV service continuum in Mozambique
