About Yvonne Chaka Chaka
Considered a role model throughout the African continent, Yvonne dedicates her time to listening to the needs of Africa’s poor, and brings those voices to global events such as the World Economic Forum, the African Union Summit, and the White House Summit on Malaria.
As a young performer, Yvonne was the first black child to appear on South African TV in 1981. Since then, her song Umqomboth was featured in the film Hotel Rwanda, and she continues to perform for wide audiences and dignitaries such as Queen Elizabeth, President Bill Clinton, and South African President Thabo Mbeki.
