Handbook of Applied Communication Research Wins Distinguished Award

The Routledge Handbook of Applied Communication Research has been awarded the 2010 Distinguished Award for an Edited Scholarly Book from the Applied Communication Division at the National Communication Association.

Dr. Maria Elena Figueroa, Director of Research and Evaluation at the Center for Communication Programs, and Dr. Lawrence Kincaid, Senior Advisor at CCP, contributed the chapter “Communication for Participatory Development: Dialogues, Action and Change” to the Handbook.

The Handbook was lauded for showcasing applied research and giving attention to methods, context, and history. One reviewer stated, “ [T]he book is very informative and should be on every applied communication professor’s bookshelf.”
