CCP celebrated over a decade of successful partnership with the Ethiopian government and local organizations during the visit of Honorable Minister Dr. Kesetebirhan Admasu, the Minister of Health of Ethiopia, to JHU on Friday, February 8.

In his remarks, Dr. Admasu praised CCP’s programs and discussed key areas in which he hopes to expand the Ministry’s collaboration with CCP.

JHU∙CCP began working in Ethiopia in 2002 and soon after launched the National AIDS Resource Center (ARC). Over the past 11 years, the ARC has grown into the premier source of HIV/AIDS information in Ethiopia and is the centerpiece of a portfolio of HIV work that includes a toll-free hotline that provides information and counseling to over 100,000 individuals monthly, a popular radio program (Betengna Radio Diaries) that features people living with HIV and AIDS, a training program for journalists and a partnership with Jimma University to build the capacity of instructors and students.

In recent years, CCP’s efforts in Ethiopia have expanded to include nutrition and knowledge management for family planning and reproductive health services.
