Springboard, the online community for social and behavior change (SBC) professionals, has a fresh look. Dubbed “Springboard 2.0,” it’s a better way to interact online, making it easier than ever to find new resources, learn new skills and connect with others in the field.
Launched in 2014, Springboard is managed by Breakthrough ACTION, USAID’s flagship SBC project, led by the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs.

How has the Springboard experience has been enhanced? Here are five ways:
- Sleek, modern interface: We’ve all become accustomed to streamlined experiences on the web and Springboard is no different. Springboard is faster and easier to navigate than ever before.
- Integration with Compass: What was formerly the Health COMpass – a curated collection of high-quality social and behavior change resources and tools – has been incorporated into this new version of Springboard. Navigate the entire collection without having to leave the website.
- New smartphone apps: Springboard is available for download for Android and iOS devices. Now, you have no excuse not to participate in the Springboard community.
- Jobs and events: Springboard has enhanced these well-loved features from the last iteration. Interested in a job posting? You can apply directly to the hiring manager who posted the job or apply via a web link. Posting an event? With one click, you can also share the event to other social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Maps and location-based posting: Springboard is a global network so these elements help visualize where in the world Springboard members are. The feature is interactive. Just click on a country pin and expand it to see which Springboard members are located in that country – and click on their profile picture to learn more about them. You can even post about upcoming travel to conferences – so you can connect with people on the ground.
