Zoonotic Behavioral Resource Assessments (ZBRA) toolkit

The Zoonotic Behavioral Resource Assessments (ZBRA) toolkit helps strengthen preparedness for zoonotic disease outbreaks by linking behavioral research with practical tools. Developed under USAID’s Breakthrough ACTION project, ZBRA offers survey instruments, interview guides, and country profiles to explore key prevention and risk behaviors, sociocultural drivers, and communication environments – empowering practitioners, policymakers and researchers to design evidence-based risk communication and community engagement strategies.

Insecticide-Treated Net (ITN) Access and Use Report

An interactive platform that tracks ownership, access, and use of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) to prevent malaria. By highlighting the “use-to-access ratio,” ITNuse.org helps programs understand whether households have enough nets—not just whether they use them. With data from nearly 20 years of surveys, the site provides maps, charts, and recommendations to guide malaria prevention strategies worldwide.

The Ebola Communication Network (ECN) is a global platform providing high-quality Ebola communication materials, tools, and resources to support social and behavior change, risk communication, and community engagement during Ebola virus disease outbreaks.

Family Planning Handbook

Family Planning: A Global Handbook for Providers is the world’s most widely used resource for frontline health workers delivering contraceptive care, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Written in clear, practical language, the handbook offers up-to-date guidance on all major contraceptive methods, drawing on the expertise of WHO, USAID, Johns Hopkins CCP, and more than 30 partner organizations. As one of the WHO Family Planning Cornerstones, it equips providers with essential, evidence-based tools to ensure safe, effective, and client-centered care.

Malaria SBC Toolkit for Community and Faith Leaders

This toolkit will guide faith and community organizations to use their own strengths, community connections, and resources to educate on how to prevent malaria and support proper treatment in local communities. Using the processes of social and behavior change (SBC), the toolkit will help leaders influence communities’ knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and social norms to help people adopt key behaviors to prevent and treat malaria.

Malaria Behavior Survey

The Malaria Behavior Survey is a cross-sectional household survey of malaria-related behaviors and the factors that drive or inhibit them. The survey uses a theory-driven and standardized methodology to produce data to inform malaria social and behavior change interventions.
