The third Worldwide Meeting (WWM) of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs (CCP) began today in Baltimore and runs through June 28. The biennial WWMs are attended by CCP’s headquarters and field staff. This year, over 60 field staff from 18 countries around the world will participate in the WWM.

“We are very pleased to have our staff come together from all over the world,” said Susan Krenn, Director of CCP. “Hosting the WWM is an opportunity for our global team to exchange ideas and explore new approaches for improving health communication programs and their impact on the lives of people where we work.”

Under the broad theme CCP Innovates!, participants in the WWM will share best practices and global lessons learned; infuse country programs with the latest evidence-based change models and experience; explore new trends in technology for health communication; and enhance operational and management systems.

Gustav Praekelt, Managing Director of Praekelt Digital, is scheduled as keynote speaker. As co-founder of one of the first digital interactive studios in Africa, his belief in the power of mobile phones to transform Africa inspired him to establish the Praekelt Foundation in 2006.

The WWM also provides an opportunity for new staff to meet their field counterparts and tenured staff to reconnect.

CCP looks forward to an innovative week!
