Four days of musical performances, dance, art, plays, health checks, raffles and education centered on the theme of life planning brought more than 6,000 students, staff and faculty together at four universities in Irbid, Jordan.

The popular event was hosted by the Jordan Health Communication Partnership (JHCP) and highlighted the importance of life planning for career, finance, family and healthy lifestyles.

During the “Open Days,” participants had an opportunity to use JHCP’s 5-10-15 life planning tool – an online tool that enables university students to plan short-, medium- and long-term (5 years, 10 years, 15 years) goals in the areas of career, finance, family and health lifestyles – and visit the One-Stop Health Booth for a basic health check-up and BMI, blood pressure and glucose monitoring.

A musical performance by popular Jordanian musician Talal Abu Ragheb, which included a song about life planning written for the event, was a highlight of the day.

A nine-year project funded by USAID and implemented by JHU∙CCP, JHCP carries out strategic and integrated behavior change communication activities that foster health competence by empowering individuals, families, communities and institutions with the necessary knowledge, skills and resources to improve and sustain health.
